Steering Stem Cover Removal
The steering stem cover is designed to prevent debris from flying off the road and coming up through the top fairing. I’ve ridden with mine off for thousands of miles and never had a problem.
Tools:
10 mm socket
Do First:
Remove the Horn (HORN REMOVAL, steps 1 through 3)
Removal
1. Use a 10mm socket to remove the bolt at the front of the steering stem.
2. Remove the steering stem cover.
Installation
3. Reverse procedures of steps 1 and 2.
Install the horn (HORN REMOVAL, step 4)
Weight
Eliminating the steering stem cover and the bolt removes 3.6 oz from the weight of the bike.
